Grignon 2000 joins Madame la Maire de Thiverval-Grignon in wishing you all the best for 2024!
The entire Grignon 2000 team wishes you a happy new year 2024!
On Friday January 5, we were joined by Nadine Gohard, Mayor of Thiverval-Grignon, and many other local elected representatives, for our traditional New Year's greetings. We join her in thanking her and the entire Municipal Council for the commune's unfailing support for our Grignon Campus project (see article below). We were delighted to be able to sing the lyre with everyone present, and we salute the various speeches made by Mr Karl Olive, MP, Mrs Sophie Primas, Senator and Mrs Florence Ghilbert , Deputy Prefect, who were present for the occasion. They all acknowledged the work carried out over many years to develop a project of general interest at Grignon, supported by local players and residents, and expressed the hope that Grignon would retain its agricultural and agronomic vocation.
"The project for Grignon is a good reason for optimism and hope at this time" - Sophie Primas, Senator for Yvelines.
"I'm also delighted that we can find a solution for this site, which deserves our attention." - Florence Ghilbert, Sous-Préfète des Yvelines
In turn, we send you our warmest wishes for 2024. May this year be synonymous with success, prosperity and happiness for you and your loved ones.
At the start of this new year, we are delighted to share with you the progress of our project. On September 29, 2023, an exploratory mission was launched to define the future of the Grignon site. This initiative, jointly entrusted to the Inspection Générale des Finances (IGF) and the Conseil Général de l'Agriculture, de l'Alimentation et des Espaces Ruraux (CGAAER) by the cabinets of the Ministers of Finance and Agriculture, paves the way for in-depth reflection on the opportunities that lie ahead.
Given that the ecological transition of agricultural and food systems, the central theme of our project, is a matter of consensus, we think we can be optimistic about their capacity for creativity in proposing a favorable legal framework for the future of the field.
Our association, Grignon 2000, is backed by almost 10,000 individual supporters, over 150 professional partners and investors ready to commit themselves. Together, we are defending a project of general interest based on solid foundations:
-
Maintaining the unity of the estate ;
-
The granting of an emphyteutic lease by the State owner to a legal entity representative of the stakeholders, with a long-term commitment;
-
The establishment of a single management structure, with autonomous decision-making and financing, to invest in the renovation of our heritage and the development of sustainable economic activities;
-
Cooperative governance, distributing power among stakeholders, whether public (such as local authorities) or private (shareholders, donors and lenders), thus promoting sufficient fundraising and smooth operations.
At this pivotal time, we are calling on all those people, professionals and sponsors who are sympathetic to our cause. Join us, join those who are already committed to rebuilding Grignon.
Together, in the face of the colossal challenges before us, let's overcome blockages and rivalries. Agriculture is a major key to mitigating the effects of climate change, and our professional partners are already developing ambitious solutions. We affirm that Grignon Campus is much more than a project; it's an initiative that brings together businesses, civil society and public authorities. It paves the way for concrete actions aimed at the transition of agricultural and food systems.
May this new year be one of realizing our shared hopes. We wish you a very happy and successful 2024.
Georges d'Andlau and Hervé Lecesne on behalf of the Board of Directors
